Svetlatehnika workers to suspend work for 2 months in Homel
Homel unitary enterprise Svetlatehnika will have to suspend its work for 2 months, Radio Liberty reports. Workers will not get paid for the downtime. 60% of them are visually handicapped.
They used to get two thirds of their wages for the same downtime last year, one of the workers told journalists. However, they will not get paid this time.
Svetlatehnika produces lamps for organizations, electric equipment, plastic seats for sports objects and garden implements. The seats made there are installed in Homel ice palace, Minsk Chyzhouka Arena, BATE stadium in Barysau and in many other places.
The enterprise administration expects to resume work in May when the National Football Stadium in Minsk orders 25 thousand plastic seats. However, the project has slowed down because the company Triple is not taking part in it anymore. Triple CEO Yury Chyzh is in prison now.
