Two opposition activists arrested for three days in Hrodna
Yury Istomin and Uladzimir Laryn, activists with the local branch of the United Civic Party, today were sentenced to three days of arrest. The activists were summoned to the Leninski District Police Station for interrogation as part of the case opened againist the two allegedly for organizing an unauthorized picket in December 2007.
Although the picket never took place, they were sentenced anyway. Meanwhile, leaflets have appeared around the city, calling on the local entrepreneurs to come for a protest action to take place on Lenin Square at noon on January 21.
