Vitsebsk entrepreneurs to strike on June 5
It will be a preventive one-day protest action, leader of Razam Iryna Yaskevich told charter97.org.
Belarusian President’s order #222 has caused the strike. Private entrepreneurs will not be allowed to sell goods without certificates and accompanying documents after July 1.
Vitsebsk entrepreneurs have prepared an appeal to Alyaksandr Lukashenka, Yaskevich said. They demand equal conditions for Russian, Kazakhstani and Belarusian entrepreneurs. Private entrepreneurs pay much more taxes than small companies or even loss-makers, she noted.
If the action does not result in anything, private entrepreneurs will start presenting zero income statements after June 20 to avoid paying taxes. If nothing changes, they will have to start closing their businesses after July 1, Yaskevich said.
