Youth activists to stand trial on June 4 in Minsk
The Central district court in Minsk on Monday June 4 will hear the case of the students that were detained on Friday.
The youth activists on June 1 staged a protest performance action titled "The Funeral of Benefits".
Around 200 young people were expected to walk on Nemiga Street, holding tickets and flowers. But they were soon attacked by the riot police.
Several action participants were heavily beaten.
Police arrested 5 demonstrators, including Aliaksander Baradzenka, Pavel Chumakou, Vadzim Baravik, Pavel Vinagradau and Illja Shust. The latter was admitted to a hospital with the suspected brain contusion.
The youth are charged with staging an unauthorized event, subject to a fine or 25 days of arrest.
