Football: Belarusian player scores from 65 m (video)
24-year-old Homel FC midfielder Alyaksandr Karnitski scored a wonderful free kick from his side of the pitch.
This rare occasion happened on Sunday, July 7, during the 16th round game of the Belarusian football championship in the top league. Homel FC played against Tarpeda BelAZ Zhodzina away. The hosts opened the score, but the guests won 2:1 by the 28th minute already.
At the 43rd minute, Alyaksandr Karnitski secured Homel's victory - his kick from 65 meters (maybe even more) caught goalkeeper Uladzimir Pyatsihorats unawares. He only managed to stretch out so that he touched the ball, but couldn't help it getting right into the net.
Homel FC defeated Tarpeda BelAZ 3:1. In the second game of the day Minsk FC defeated Nyoman in Hrodna 2:0. The central 16th round game - Dynama Minsk vs leader Shakhtar Salihorsk - will take place on Monday at "Tractor" stadium.
