March of Unity attracts hundreds of thousands of people in Paris
People protested against terrorism in the capital of France on January 11.
The large-scale action was held to commemorate the victims of the recent terrorist acts in France. Politicians, civil activists and ordinary citizens took part in it. French President François Hollande and the leaders of several dozen states joined the action.
Brothers Cherif and Said Kuachi rushed into the office of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris on January 7. They killed 12 people including 8 journalists and two policemen. 11 people were wounded.
A policewoman was killed in southern Paris on Thursday. The murder was committed by Ahmed Koulibali connected with brothers Kouachi, the police think.
Ahmed Koulibali took hostages in a Jewish shop shop in Paris on Friday morning. They were killed by the police in the printing house in Dammartin-en-Goële on Friday afternoon.
The anti-terrorist forces assaulted the Jewish shop at the same time and released 15 hostages. Four hostages died. Ahmed Koulibali was killed. According to the French police, he started killing the hostages before the assault.
The French police are looking for Koulibali and brothers Kuachi’s possible accomplices now.
