"Tell the Truth" urges police to wear uniforms
The activists are tired of being arrested by thug-looking "people in plain clothes" that appear from vans without number plates.
Civil activists presented their appeal to the Council of Ministers, the House of Representatives and head of the Interior Ministry's Civil Council Henadz Davydzka at a press-conference on Monday in Minsk.
One of the leaders of the campaign's youth branch "Zmena" Pavel Vinahradau has told the following:
"For me personally, it makes no big difference! However, i see the situation from the point of view of an ordinary citizen, no matter whether he is an activist or not - for such person, it will be at least scary. It's stressful - some unknown guys catching him and dragging him to a car. When a person sees it's a police officer, he might hope he would act in accordance with the law, while bandits won't. He will know that at east he won't be killed."
However, the opposition members do not believe the MPs and the Council of Ministers will react to their demand.
